A Project For Each Body Of Work

Give each series, exhibition or commission its own project, with pages for the research, references, sketches, work in progress and the finished pieces. A Photo Selection on a progress page keeps the photos of each piece as it develops, so months later you can still follow how the work came about.

References From Museums

Add artwork from seven museum collections to a Moodboard without leaving Formta, among them the Rijksmuseum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark. Filter the artwork by colour, or search for an artist, a motive or a place. Each piece links to its page at the museum, where you'll find its rights and credits.

The Colours Of A Series

Keep the colours of a series in a Colour Palette. Take them from a photo of a painting, from your Moodboard or, on Studio and Pro, from an ASE or ACO swatch file. A harmony shows which colours go with the one you've picked, and a print profile marks the colours a printer can't reproduce before a catalogue or a print goes out. Export the palette as a PDF with crop marks for the printer.

Works, Materials And Sign-Off

Keep finished works, canvases, papers and paints in your inventory, with how many you have, their size and where each one is, like the studio or on loan to a gallery. When a commission or a show needs sign-off, hover Share and select Send to client. The collector, gallery or curator creates a free Formta account, or signs in, comments and approves, and each round is kept. Personal includes 3 client revisions per project, Studio 5 and Pro has no limit.
