For audio and music producers

Audio And Music

Project management for music producers, made for the way an album actually moves. Months of writing, tracking, mixing and mastering with a producer, an artist, an engineer and a label keeping three calendars and a stack of tools loosely in line. Formta is the place the whole release stays on one project: the schedule, the demos, the artwork, the press and the marketing plan in the place they belong.

The Release On One Timeline

A Timeline shows the project's events, tasks and meetings a month at a time, day by day, with a row for each person. Writing days, studio sessions, mixing and mastering sit in the rows of the people doing them, so you can see who's busy when. Drag a session to another day, or onto someone else's row, and the change shows on the Calendar page too.

Sessions With Everyone Invited

Add each session to a Meeting List and everyone you invite gets an email invitation. When a session moves, right-click it and select Send Update. Write lyrics, credits and session notes on the project page in the Text Editor, and type @ to mention the engineer who needs to see them.

Mixes On The Page On Pro

On Pro, upload audio up to 500 MB per file, in MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, OGG, FLAC or WEBA, and put the mixes on a Moodboard next to the artwork and the notes about them. Audio isn't included on Personal or Studio, so on those plans keep a link to each mix in a Table, with a row for each version and a column for the notes.

Artist And Label Sign-Off

Hover Share and select Send to client to send the artist, their manager or the label a page. They create a free Formta account, or sign in, comment and approve, and each round is kept in its own tab. Keep the release budget in a Budget Sheet, and before you send it, click the eye icon beside any line that isn't for them. They see a muted Private line in its place, and the totals still add up.
